Ok after 20yrs our outdoor carpet on our covered porch is showing some wear. Its a concrete porch with a roof so very little sun or weather in general. Going to the carpet store reveled that they have very little to no product for us to look at and what they have is warranted for only 5yrs! Seems like they do not have much faith in their product or is this normal. What brands are considered the upper end and hold up?
Any advise would be great.

You might need to research online for products, especially for quality..... maybe even YouTube. I re did carpet on a porch and walkway 10 years ago. I can't remember the previous one.... 15 years before that. You just don't see it much anymore.

A lot of outdoor carpet readily available is cheap and thin. No reason to have any faith in crap like that. I would be scared to honor a 5 year warranty with that stuff. They do make decent outdoor products but they will likely have to be special ordered. I did a golf course patio years ago with some thick stuff meant to stand up to golf shoes. That was a decent product, nothing like what you’ll see available at a box store or a small mom n pop shop.

Might be worth looking into visiting a floor store that also does commercial work since that will be where you’ll prolly find someone that has experience dealing with outdoor products. They will also be more likely to have, or at least know, people that are tooled and set up to deal with that kind of work.

C.J. Thanks for the reply. Have checked Connors flooring, Carpet one and couple of small mom/pop places but all have the same mohawk / shaw offerings. Next closes stores would be in Portland or Spokane which would be 4 hrs away. Can you offer the company names and/or model name of these heavier outdoor carpets?

The place I do measuring for is looking for some to put behind the batting cage at the high school and it's a fairly large area. The substrate is compacted gravel. I'll try to remember to ask them tomorrow.
Have you tried googling "artificial turf" instead of "carpet" ?
They make it for putting greens.
Google artificial turf or putting greens and your towns name.

Thanks, the closes CFM is 4hrs away but I sent them a message via their contact form to see what they have to offer.

Maybe Try Kane Carpet 🤷🏻‍♂️…. Back in the day, they manufactured stylish flat weaves
with indestructible backings, so I’m assuming they still manufacture that same way. They probably don’t advertise their products as outdoor products, but I bet you could lay them in a pool 😜 as the entire product is synthetic.
