Love the iron, I had one in my collection still in the original case.

    Roberts 10-232

I had a helper that kicked the stretcher, 6 poles in a wooden case, down 4 flights of stairs on a commercial job we were doing. Needless to say there wasn't much of the case left at the bottom.

They probably would if they were Roberts brand. The poles haven't changed much over the years. I lied they have but the basic pole is still the same.

Have any of your ancestors owned slaves?

Who is to say what is right or wrong. Most all wars are fought over politics or religion, it all depends on what you believe in, but most are fighting because they were forced to.

    What did you do today?

I used my table saw yesterday and found one half of the table was rusted. It was covered so didn't know it happened, I thought I had it oiled good.

Have any of your ancestors owned slaves?

I have no real feelings about it as it was a different time and all races had slaves including the blacks. I'm part Irish and the Irish were slaves when coming to the US. That also a way of working off debts to become a slave to whom the debt was owed. Even black people had slaves in the US. So...

Have any of your ancestors owned slaves?

In doing my family tree I found out one of my dear old great grandfathers owned slaves in merry old England. In his will it told of which slaves were to go to his daughter, wife and son. That was a shock to me as I didn't even think of slavery.

    Who's at fault?

My quesstion would be how was the seam constructed, kind of tape, iron, etc? Maybe instructions call for the carpet to be handsewn were they read. Not placing blame but covering bases. I've never seen the sticky covering pull a seam apart before or heard of it.

When new the stretcher came with 4 poles. Many of us added 2 more poles over time.

It is an older junior power stretcher. In the steel case I would say manufactured in the 70's. Most had wooden cases before that. Where you have that iron stored is where there was room for another head. What we called a cotton head, just grippers no teeth. As a collector of old carpet tools I...

    Discussing politics and religion

No matter how many statues are destroyed, books burned, history will always be there even without the visuals, you are an idiot to think otherwise. My opinion and I approve of this post.

    Daily Improvements

White chalk is all I ever used in the last 40 years. I even use it to chalk the rows in my garden. Works great. A little tip on cutting with a straight edge. Instead of using your knife use your top cutter, less chance of jumping the edge and leaving a scar the length of your index finger like...

I've made my own tracks for years, in different sizes. I saw it done on a commercial job I was on years ago and stole the idea. Works great. But also have a boughten one.

    What did you do today?

I did notice some immediate pain relief. At least I was walking a little more upright. He did the right side yesterday, I don't know when the left side will be done yet. I guess it will only last about 6 months and then the nerve grows back together. Hey 6 months of a lot less pain, I'll take it.
