    Adhesive question

For the treads I was thinking Roberts 7350 and the nosing I was gonna use sika 11fc. I'd like to know what others think about these selections as well. Thanks for the reply. In my experience construction adhesive doesn't work well on LVP transitions or on the plank itself. I've had masterweld...

    Adhesive question

I'm sorry if this question has already been asked but I couldn't find it here. Can anyone recommend a pressure sensitive that would be ok to use for vinyl plank with attached pad on steps that Home Depot would carry? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Corporation number

Yeah as I get deeper and deeper into this I'm finding your advice to be true. Basically if running your own business and every aspect of it was easy then everyone would be doing it. But it's not and that's why we hire those professionals to do the things that they're better, quicker, and more...

    Corporation number

No it's not an EIN number. The secretary at the school made sure she empathized that. She called it a corporate number and said it would be about 6 numbers long. Thanks for your response though. I think it has something to do with registering the entity name.

    Corporation number

So I'm getting my contractors license in California and the school is telling me that I need to get a corporation number to send with my application because I'm going the incorporated route. Does anyone know how I would go about doing that?

    Criminal past

Good advice thank you. On paper I don’t look like a very good candidate or person in general but I’m not that person at all anymore. Like havasu said,”I see a 3 strike felon” and I totally get it. That’s what a lot of people might see if you’re not familiar with laws. To get a strike in...

    Criminal past

Commercial burglary is just another word for shoplifting. Those were misdemeanors. The second degree felony burglary was a felony because of the dollar amount of the item(s) is how I understand it. But the thing about that charge too is it can be a felony or misdemeanor (wobbler) and the judge...

    Criminal past

I live in California and I’m going to be getting my contractors license soon. I have a criminal past that I’m not particularly proud of but it is what it is. I’ll just say I’m 8 1/2 years clean and sober now. Anyways my past consists of a felony second degree burglary, a few commercial...

    Heating Hardwood adhesive

Mostly I’ve just powered through and I just recently bought a small heater that helps a little. I’m just always looking for new ways to make my job easier and thought I’d ask around.

    Heating Hardwood adhesive

I’ve worked for a few different contractors in these new tract homes and they all pretty much do things the same way. When they’re building one house right after the other and you move from one to the next to the next there’s no time for any of that. So there are a lot of corners cut of which we...

    Heating Hardwood adhesive

Yes engineered pre finished hardwood. I’ve been working on these kinds of job sites for 20 years and there’s no acclimation going on here. Sometimes the material doesn’t even come in to the shop until the day before it needs to be installed. I know 3 days of acclimation is the minimum...

    Heating Hardwood adhesive

I work in new housing tracts where there’s no heat and hardly ever electricity or running water in the houses most of the time. We get our electricity form generators on the job site supplied by the builder. When I get started at 7am these winter mornings it’s 40 degrees outside. So the adhesive...

    Heating Hardwood adhesive

Does anyone heat up their hardwood adhesive to make it easier to spread? What do you use to heat it?

    California contractors license

Geez I hope he didn’t give up though. It’s good to have big dreams but not too unrealistic I guess. I live in a city with a bigger population than your county and a county of about 3/4 of million so I have that going for me so far lol. I’m thinking its kind of a “you get as much as you put in”...

    California contractors license

Thanks guys. I appreciate your input. I think I’m just gonna do it and test the water like you said Steve. Also Tom, I think I have enough people in my network to get a good start. I feel like this is the next step in my career. I almost wish I would’ve decided to do this sooner. I need a few...

    California contractors license

I know people who manage rentals. Also I have a good friend who does remodels and add-ons. Is work that far and in between that I’d have to “scrounge it up?” I’ve never really had much of a problem finding side work. Also I have a decent relationship with the guy I work for now and I see no...

    California contractors license

Hello everyone, I’ve been doing hardwood, laminate, lvp and tile floors off and on (mostly on) in California for the better part of 20 years. I’ve always been an employee and worked under a licensed contractor. I’m 43 years old, married with 3 children under 4 years old. I’ve been thinking a lot...
