This was my Sunday breakfast. I get this bacon from Minnesota every year. When Karen ordered it she must have stuttered and said thick thick cause there are only 7 slices in a pound and it is delicious. She likes hers incinerated I like mine floppy as she says.

We were on a cruise somewhere and I saw this lady with thick bacon so I asked where she got it from as I never saw it anywhere. She said one has to ask for English bacon as they have it hidden
This was on a 2 week cruise and I only found out about this English bacon the day before we were getting off the ship :mad:

Have you ever tried Canadian Bacon?

Americans have a different name for that stuff too. We call it ham. My older son used to love Canadian Bacon they sell here in tiny little packages at a very high price. When he came to the grocery store I would always allow him a few treats-----no questions asked. But after a while he wanted that with eggs for breakfast and I would just substitute regular old ham and he never noticed the difference. Fry it up crisp on one side, cut it up and mix it around with the scrambled eggs and he was a happy camper. I've always been the cook in my house. My wife has trouble boiling an egg.

Its kinda a round shape and what I can remember the bacon was sitting in water, but its kinda like English bacon in a way but no way as good

Any meat from a pig needs to be fully cooked but yeah, bacon here served in restaurants tends to be overcooked, primarily because they slice it so thin. It's a lot harder to get that thin slice fully cooked without ruining the meat and drying it out completely.
