Just finished removing about 1,400 of black mastic, tested negative for asbestos, using Blue Bear Mastic Remover in my basement. The basement's sump pump tile was apparently re-poured at some point leaving unlevel sections that the scraper can't full get too. Wanting to see if anyone has any similar experiences on getting the rest up. I'm planning on polishing the entire floor.
I have a 7" PCD and 30 Grit Grinding Wheel that just arrived. At this point I want to move to the PCD wheel on the unlevel sections and follow up with the 30 to clean up those areas and get everything roughly level and remove any remaining mastic. The last step would be to rent a walk behind to finish the higher grit levels on the entire surface since the majority is already smooth and mastic free.
I understand this will take a looong time, but I'm on a budget and have the time. Am I on the right track? Google Drive Link to some photos:
