Hi All,
I've put down hardwood before, both glue and floating click lock, but I'm about to start on my first nail down experience. BTW, I hated gluing its a mess, I ended up looking like the stay puffed marshmallow man and I don't ever want to do it again. . . .
I'm installing on grade, concrete slab. I understand the plastic vapor barrier, I have the 3/4" plywood, I have underlayment and the 3/4" refinished flooring.
So here's the question:
* Do I have to nail the plywood to the concrete? If so, do I use blue screws, or a Hilti gun?
* How long of a brad do I need to properly nail the hardwood to the Ply? 1" 1.25"?
* one room already has 25 year old Bruce glue down. Can I put 3/8th ply over that and use the glue down as part of my subfloor?
Thanks for any input and recommendations!
