How difficult is to match the stain of the hardwood floor and the stain of the stairs ?

I will buy white oak engineered hardwood (this one White Oak Hush | Mercier Wood flooring )
The hardwood manufacturer does not provide this stain
The stairs are read oak and I was wondering if the paint store will be able to get me a finish that will match the hardwood.

That’s a tough one. The best thing I’ve found for matching stain is to just play with it until you find a match that is acceptable to you. You have red oak and white oak, two different woods, as well as you’re trying to match up to something that may have a finish that has ambered and/ or faded over time.

I like to get a few of the 1 quart containers that have markings on the side so you can record what quantities and ratio you use if you end up having to blend different colors to get a good match. Now you just gotta test it out on some scrap pieces of wood to see how close you get. Put on your artist had cus nobody gets lucky on the first try.
