Mixed flooring

I have a 20yr old contemporary home with the core rooms(den,dining foryer, hallway) having light oak hardwood floors(very similar to background on this page). The kitchen has ceramic tile and 4 bedrooms and office are carpet. I want to replace all carpeted areas with probably luxury vinyl plank(open to suggestions). What colors should I be looking at to complement the hardwood?

I think you need to get a bunch of samples and place them against the wood to which ones work and which ones clash.

I would just pick whatever you like. If you like it, it looks good. That is basically my understanding of home design.

Help selecting colors/styles has never been in my wheelhouse. Basically tell me what you want and I'll make it happen....

The absolute best way to pick colors is to just ask the wife what she wants..... Problem solved!
