For a short time someone had a carpet that hooked on Velcro strips that were put around the edges like tack strip. I only saw it once 10-15 years ago.

That was the 3M Tackfast system. You put the tape down and hooked the carpet, then wet it. The carpet would bubble up and then you went back stretched out the bubbles and cut it in. Seams were done with the tape also. You could do all kinds of border work with the system. I may still have some of the tape around.
Also there was a carpet [Domo]that was European That used the velcro system, beings in Europe they take everything with them when they move. That stuff had a fleecy type backing. You could take it and fold it up into a bundle and the creases would come out.
Actually it wasn't called velcro beings that is a trademark, hook and loop is what they called it.

The one I saw had shrunk on one end. They wanted a bid on fixing it. Told them the truth, I had no clue.

Have got to see it and work with it some. Not a fan of it. I talked with Andrew Smith ( he is the tech that is doing the demo's for Mohawk. Also got to talk with the CEO of Mohawk, voice my feelings about it. They are pushing it hard.Dealers are not happy because they will be loosing out on pad margins. Only a few styles and few colors in the line. Tape or PS glue around edges. Tape at seams, straight edge from back to make seams, no seam sealer.
