Hi all,
I'm replacing my upstairs carpet with vinyl plank flooring, and I've got a situation with my stair landing where I'd like some advice. The landing is trimmed with hardwood that supports wrought iron balustrades. Here are some photos of a plank next to the hardwood trim:
I'm looking for a good transition between these two surfaces. I have one of those "4-in1" vinyl transitions sets from Home Depot that worked well in another room, but it seems less than ideal here. The only part of it that might work here would be the T-molding, but I'd have to put a shim strip under it to get it high enough to cover the top of the landing trim. Ideally, I'd like to find a hardwood transition that would plug into the exposed grooves in the hardwood trim. It would need to be notched on the bottom to allow the plank to slide underneath it. If I could find such a thing then I could stain it to match the floor.
Does anyone here have any suggestions?
