I watched (and still am watching) the opening ceremony. Bob Costas was doing interviews and making a lot of political comments about Russia and our current relations with them that carried over to his pre-ceremony questions to the president.
I thought the Olympics was about athletes, not politics. I think he asked the president some questions that were out of line with the beginnings of the ceremony about to begin. Is Bob Costas an ass? ...............or was he just trying to make a new name for himself given the microphone at this moment.
Seems like for the first 1/2 hour before the ceremony, the talk was all about political issues between the two countries.
I'm not in anyone's wildest imagination, the slightest of fans of the current administration, but give the Olympics a break and stick to the sports Bob. This is about the athletes.
