Were those all just vinyl? I never recalled anyone mentioning peel and stick and asbestos in the same sentence. Some are going to need removal in a water damaged kitchen and laundry. They were installed directly over some 1978ish sheet vinyl, so I'd say the tiles are late 80's.

AFAIK, the peal and stick tiles from the 80's didn't have any asbestos in them. Man, Those we the days. I was laying floors daily at people's houses, and I was just a handyman.

I expect they manufactured some vinyl-asbestos peel and stick but I have no direct experience with or knowledge of that. So I'm guessing it's not a zero percent chance but very, very little chance you're going to find any still stuck to the ground.

Yeah, it's an insurance job and I think the homeowners are removing them to save a buck.
They removed some Wilsonart ad this was in the kitchen, laundry and dining room. Most are adhered, but as expected, they get cupped on the edges. If they aren't cupped, a skim of floor patch will do it.
Thanks, I didn't think any of those did.

As far as I know they are safe. Those were a money-maker. I charged the same per foot installing those as I did regular tiles. Did 300 ft in two hours once. Easiest $300 I ever made.
