I'm willing to bet that is some old strip and pictures. Maybe the 2 nail thing wasn't in the mix at that time. I have a bag of those nails that have to be at least 40 years old. We used to use blue lath nails.

I use the sm roofing nails . I even have the old canvas carpenters Pouch.

Probably a woven installation.
Here's one of mine from 2009. The room on the left was woven, a smaller room on right I was a Lee's loop I think. (only one layer of strip)

I think I see some glue ooz between a section. It's concrete.
