Hi,
I just put in a pergo xp floor in my sunken family room (sunken by about 6").
I left the appropriate expansion space around the perimiter of the floor.
I also screwed Pergo to what would be considered a stair riser. Going up from the family room to the kitchen.
The pergo is installed flush to the floor and under stair nosing on the top.
A few hours after I finished the installation I realized I left no expansion gaps for the stair riser.
Should I remove the pergo, rip a quarter of an inch of the bottom and then reinstall with some expansion room on the top and bottom.
It would be a moderate job to do so. My answer to my own question is Yes.
Thanks,
Mike
