I saw on this forum somewhere that some people are recommending Quick-Step NatureTek etc. There's also a Quick-Step sold by Lowes called Studio. The logo is the same though the style is not on the Quick-Step website.

Then I started looking at reviews of the product and I'm seeing a fair number of people saying the stuff is separating, comes in damaged, etc. Can anyone comment on this?

I'm also looking at Pergo Max, XP, and Outlast (which is high on my list).

I'm replacing carpet in a living room and hall. 400 feet total. It's on the top floor of a bilevel.
I have a dog and the living room has a new low-E sliding door to a deck.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom P.

Those floors are a bit slippery for dogs, but they get used to it. I'd buy one of the high end products, not a cheap one on especially if the dog is a large one. I don't think Lowes carries the higher quality, more expensive stuff.
I Think you'd get much better advice and a far better selection from a floor covering store than a box store.
If what you're looking at is anywhere near $2 a sq foot, I wouldn't waste your money.

I'd suggest a good quality underlayment like cork. Cheap lightweight foam will make it sound cheap and hollow........ there are good versions of the foam also. The cheap kind looks like something you would pack dishes in when moving.

It is also bad on their backs ..

So quickstep was bought by Mohawk. Which enabled them to use the bedt locking mechanism ever made to date - UNICLIC
Pergo got caught using the locking mechanism and was sued by Mohawk/Quickstep and bank prolly UNILIN so bad Pergo stock tanked and Mohawk bought Pergo. Now Pergo legally can use the best locking mechanism ever made.
Not sure that answers the question .
