Howdy Guys FNG here,
I have a stair landing that I am in the process of removing tiles from and replace this tile with LVP.
This landing has that steel reinforcing mesh and a scratch coat over the OSB. I need to glue this LVP down. What kind of sub flooring/material could I use on top of this reinforcement mesh/scratch coat to give me a stable/uniform surface to glue to? I really don't want to try to remove this mesh/concrete for a couple of reasons: A) It would be an absolute bear to remove; B) It would give me the extra depth I need to make up the difference between the tile I removed and the thinner stock I'm replacing the tile with.
Would screwing down regular plywood on top of this mesh substrate be ok? (obviously long enough screws to penetrate into the OSB beneath the mesh/concrete substrate)
Cheers,
G
