Tablets are the future?

I keep reading that tablets are the future. That PCs will be phased out. Do you really believe that? Every tablet that I have seen, not just the cheap one that I own, are pitifully slow and don't do half the stuff that my laptop does. I would sure hate to give up my PC.

For me the tablets seem to not be ergonomically correct. The balance seems funny. I also hope they contain USB ports and have a longer lasting battery.

My wife has an Ipad that her school gave to he but she's only allowed to use it for school work. They also furnish her with a MacBook-----also not allowed for personal use. So for her personal stuff she wanted a "tablet" and I had to deal with helping her select one. For all the features and price I don't see the point. Just buy a laptop. But I guess she wants to carry in her purse.......or WHATEVER. Anyways, she got the Samsung Galaxy for $139. But then she had to buy a case and screen cover. With tax and all it was just over $200.

I haven't seen it in action yet.

Since I normally don't carry a purse I really fail to see the point of having a TINY laptop without a keyboard.

I stumped.
