I just got a call from "windows" again and the caller ID read. "Illegal Scam"

A lot of it going around now , Especially the IRS Scam .

I've never seen a scam in an id. I very seldom answer any phone number I don't recognize. Especially outside my area code.

I have been getting about 3 calls a day on my cell from God knows who. Last night I got #4 and when i answered no one was there. I got po'ed and screamed into the phone why don't you answer me mother******* and then I hear a voice. So I hung up, he didn't call back. I don't know why.:machine gun:

They are using host files to make it look like it is in your area code Angie .

if they are not in my contact list ,I don't answer . It lets them know they hit a live number .

I have had calls that had my number in the caller ID.

I have been having calls with the persons names showing on the screen who I have never rung, a Real Estate person for example, he got my mobile number out of the phone book, so these names aren't in my phone. He was also surprised when I told him his name came up on my screen. I wonder if they have entered my name and number into their phone which then gets transferred to me when he dials me?
Scary in a way. These Smart phones
