If Microsoft just would have called me instead of spending $millions on their analysis groups, I would have told them the same thing for a six pack of beer.

I talked to a beta tester on city profile several years ago who said that W8 was junk. They offered to him free and he turned it down.

Microsoft has a long history of using the public to test their products for them. After purchase, of course.

Win 8 worked out great for us. After evaluating it I did some research. We now have about 80% of our desktops using thin clients running rdp to a ubuntu server. We're saving a bundle in OS licensing and hardware costs. In the past it would take me hours to fully configure a new PC (load OS, update, tweak, load apps, update, tweak, etc). Now I buy a thin client for 1/3 the cost and it is up and usable in 15 minutes.
