so no telling if it is a upgrade or new install dvd. You take what they give you.
After you hand over your money.
That is why I spend money on hardware. Not software. But to each their own road.
I do not judge.
Time will tell I guess if 9 will be a improvement.
I expect pirated copies to be on the net about as fast as it is released though.

Lordy. I hope not. My old lap box W7 is getting a little long in the tooth, and a new computer is desperately needed.
Donate your old 7 to the needy and be sure to send the serial # so it can be reactivated in an old computer on a new hard drive of the needy's personal choice.
What does this mean?
When I build my comp I buy an os disc and have the activation code to use forever, so far anyways.
Few months ago at work, customer got call from microsoft tech telling him he needed to upgrade or some such for a charge.
He let the tech access his computer and got locked out til he pays.

Microsoft never calls anyone. It's a well-known scam.
