We have 4 newer laptops. 3 W7 and one with W8. No one likes the one with W8.

I wonder when they will realize Win 8 was a complete failure and proceed to a new Win 9?

W 9 is scheduled to be out within a year.

They new it was bad when they first put it out , and then rushed out to put 8.1 out . Now they are Trying to distance themselves from 8 with Win 9 Which is going to be another piece of crap.

I don't think that they are sure what they want to do. They are trying to put a tablet type OS on a PC and it won't work. When they predict the end of the PC, they are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Gradually upgrading W 7, which IMHO is just an XP upgrade anyway, would be fine. But W8 was originally designed to be a hybrid system. It was to be a combination touch screen and mouse driven system. But when the reviews in Beta testing were horrible and they had already given a release date, they quickly removed the touch screen capabilities and released the disaster. Now, they have no idea what to do with it. As their profits begin to plummet maybe someone will realize that they need to go back to their roots.

Actually 7 is a Tweak of Vista . And we all know how good that was .

8 Has the touch screen capability's, you just have to spend another $400.00 for the Monitor.

I posted a long time ago the coders admitted to PC mag that most of the security updates were bogus . They were Bored , and wanted job security .

That is why i don't have my confuser set to automatic updates .
