Not much difference between literally and figuratively. Same number of shoes will be needed, no matter if there's 2 manufactures or 2000 manufacturers, nor right people or poor people.
..so do we save the earth by not making deodorant? ....eew. As far as the starving children, anyone can donate to a cause that helps hunger issues.
Wasting resources? The only way we could stop what Bernie thinks is wasteful, is mandating that certain products cannot be produced.
Here's how it works. Businesses do not waste resources. Everything they waste is called profit loss. I live in timber country. In the 1960's people didn't buy 2x4's with more than knots in them. That ugly looking wood became waste and a lot of things were dumped into the old wig warm burners. That was wasteful beyond belief. Today every bit of wood product is used right down to the bark. That wasn't a government mandate, that was hard business learning curve.
I'd love to see Bernies actual list of things that he considers as "Wasting" resources, and also exactly what he plans to do to "correct" the "problem"
Bernie is stating what he thinks and likes. No way he wouldn't want to implement those sorts of values.
Ocasio wants a United States with no fossil fuels including
no air planes. What was that New Green Deal plan, no fossil fuels in 10 years? That lady is one real fruitcake. Her vision if enacted would make us a 3rd world country in a single year. She ought to be writing comic books.

While individuals, thinktanks and special interest groups beg to differ, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) believes mankind's use of fossil fuels is contributing to what she calls “climate change” or “global warming,” and she argues that unless something is done about it, Americans can expect bigger, more powerful storms and other extreme weather conditions.
As a result, Ocasio-Cortez is proposing a "
Green New Deal "
that involves major investments in clean-energy jobs and infrastructure – transforming not just the energy sector, but the entire economy in 12 years. This is when a report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says people need to get emissions under control – or there's no going back.
12 years? I would love to see her actual to carry this out. plan. (she doesn't)
