Fixing Flaws in Polyurethane Final Coat

I was making my escape out the back door while making the finishing swipes with the poly applicator and suddenly one of the cats stormed in and ice skated around in the poly. It was not cool!

I didn't want to step in it and make it and worse to reach over and wipe the area. What would you suggest doing to fix this? Sand it down smooth and feather it? Is there a magical technique out there?

Screen it off and coat it again is all I got, after killing the cat of course

I think you should cover the cat with duct tape then pull it off and get all the loose hairs out before using it as an applicator.
