Hope is isn't going to use that kicker to fix it.

Used a kicker to install it the first time. Looks like an expensive fix for some cheap carpet. If it looks like that in one place the entire house need stretching.
I bet the backing is already shot buy being so loose for a long period of time.

Those are nice looking stairs. Does the edge stick up above the center or is that an illusion? If it does stick up, is that allowed? I would think it might be a tripping hazard for children (or people with small feet).
