I missed your post on this one, Jon.
I'm more concerned about motive than who want's to purchase land down there. I think that locals ought to care enough if the land needs to be set aside because it's special.

A lot of the land here is being sold to the Chinese especially the farms. We are going to end up tenants in our own country
At least this guy has prevented anybody being able to buy this land which he seems to have spent heaps of money on He has done the right thing in a nice way for NZ
