Who makes a good commercial upright vac?
A friend that works at a local store asked me and I have no clue.
It's used for cleaning the entry area at a local supermarket that has some tough carpet tiles. Two entrances that get vacuumed 3/4 times a day. They go through a lot of cheap vacs.

Royal used to make some nice commercial vacuums. Looked like an old Kirby with a wider snout. Don’t know if they went out of business or what but I don’t see any new vacuums available from them. I had a Sanitaire once and that seemed like a heavy duty vac that would stand up to repeated use.

Sanitaire..... I'd totally forgotten that brand.
Thanks 👍
I'll look it up. The guy told me they had one vac last two days, some just 6 months. They don't vacuum 24/7, just 4 times a day in carpet tiled entry areas. 10 or 12 x 50 total. The carpet tiles are in the corduroy category, installed in alternating directions like we'd do VCT.
I'll have him pass Sanitaire up his chain of command. 👍

I'm assuming it is a bag type? They've been using those cyclone types. Being the grocery store's entry, there is a lot foot traffic off the parking lot. A thousand per day.... two thousand? ....I have no clue. I wonder how often they'd meet to replace the bag.

It's probably heavy too. 😁 They certainly don't wear out. Grandpa had one.... forever.
I think they like the convenience of snapping the clear plastic container from the vacuum and taking it outside to the garbage can. Fast and not very messy.
Ya it is heavy, but I did switch out the cloth bag for one that has the plastic cup that I found from a scrapped machine. That is a better.
