Sounds like one of the typical high end jobs we use to do around Philadelphia
( Go Birds šŸ¦… ) Itā€™s a Randy job šŸ‘ and I canā€™t wait to see photos of the crafty ramp. Probably some sort of layered structure that, if possible, can be spread out over a large portion of the area.

As for the pad glue, (cheep mpa) rather than staplesā€¦..Itā€™s probably totally not necessary. I was picturing a thick 40 ounce felt, made thicker than usual and sometimes it just laughs at the staples. Here you are pounding away at it and itā€™s barely holding it downā€¦.. In that case, I would break out a 6ā€ spackle knife or the short end of the trowel and smear some glueā€¦.. Have fun High, how long is the commute ?
40 oz wool pad. Let's see if my allergies come back. šŸ˜±

This is a 1.5 mil home and it's on plywood. No bucket of glue here. šŸ˜

Value is subjective cus you can easily drop a million for a basic 3br 2ba block house here.

I remember the clowns at HD would say some crap like ā€˜This is an 18k jobā€™ as if I should care more. First off half that 18k is materials so now weā€™re down to a 9k job and half of that 9K gets sucked up by HD and the service provider. So now weā€™re talking $4500 to me and the rest of that original number doesnā€™t mean anything to me.

It's $35,000 just for the carpet on this job and it's 5 bedrooms, none outrageously large. He needed 260 yards but he has to buy the entire run of carpet or 360 + a 10% "overage"
All in all, the owner will probably be into this for $48,000 including shipping.
As a bonus, he'll have 100+ yards left over in case repairs need to be done some day. šŸ˜
This isn't going to be where he lives. It's a little 5500 sq ft vacation cottage next to the golf course.
I have no idea its value in our area. When someone says it's a "million dollar" home.... It could be 2. I don't have a clue.
