Installing Backer Board

Hello everyone,

I installed Concrete backer board for a bathroom tile install. Overall it looks fine instead of one of the walls...The board is too far away from the wall (about a inch away). Is there anything I can do to correct this other than taking the board up and starting over? i already installed with thinset beneath.

The other areas aren't flush on the wall....its a small gap as i've read u should space the backer board 1/4 inch away from the wall. I have a picture Attached for the area in question.

Pack it w thinset and lay your tile

Do I not need to worry about leaving a 1/4 gap when filling with thinset?

If you are concerned about expansion, place a piece of cardboard against the wall and then fill with thinset. You will be OK.

I wouldn't sweat it on only one wall.
