First time I ever saw this flexible backing. Any advice for seaming. It doesn’t have a secondary backing.

Now that's a different one. looks almost like a softback.
With a new to me carpet backing, I always used to test it out by setting my seaming iron on 3.5 or maybe a little higher, then once fully heated, I'd set the iron directly on the backing for maybe 5 seconds or so. Some backings could handle it and some would shrink, distort or melt almost instantly.
I'd at least have a starting point knowing it's sensitivity.
I'm thinking a low temp urethane tape for that one .

I guess the flimsy yellowish fleece is the secondary backing 😳 and while removing factory packaging tape, the fleece came right off 😳 The carpet is practically a Rag Rug 😳 , not what we are use too.

We gently wet sealed the seams, and used the SDN ( seamer down now vacuum) We burned the seams on setting 2.50 and power stretched lightly and they are still together. I told my friend ( I was the helper mechanic 😜 ) you better save the extra, just in case.
