Hi everyone,
I work in a warehouse that sells handmade rugs. We’re looking to set up an area with a hardwood flooring “look” where we can show our rugs to customers. The existing floor is smooth concrete. It would be in an open area without walls. We like the look and durability of laminate but not sure if this would work without having walls to keep everything in place. Could it be glued down with transition strips along the open edges? Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help

You can install a floating floor (laminate/LVP/ engineered wood) out in the open and the reducers will hold it in place. If you don’t want to spend the money on reducers you can use a round over bit on a router to round over the edges and hit em with a brown sharpie to finish em off. And if that’s the route you go then you would squirt a lil adhesive under the perimeter planks to hold ‘em in place.

Thanks for the suggestions.
If we were to use reducers, they would need to be glued down?

Either glue them down or if they come with a snap track you could use that. Thing with the snap track is the track itself either it gets glued down or screwed down.

Just one more question. What type of adhesive would you recommend? The floor is a smooth concrete.

Silicone will work. Fuze It, Lexel, Dap Ultra or any of the multitude of construction adhesives that are available will all work as well.
