Anyone going to buy me the winning ticket?
I will share the winnings with you
I promise :D
Its Sunday 4 pm here so I will Google the winning numbers so you can buy them
Okay? :D

Some guy from the middle east won our Oregon Megabucks lottery once. He bought a ticket through a broker. They have someone in the US buy the ticket, then they send you a photo copy of the ticket they purchased for you and then they put the ticket in a safe deposit box at the bank. If you win, you have to come to the US to claim the winnings in person.
1.3 billion+ Jon. Can you handle that? ;)
I think that I would take the first $5,000 and buy me a new camera and run off into the hills for a week or two to let reality settle in.
Next I'd talk to a financial planner.
Then I'd run off into the hills for a week or two to let reality settle in. :D

I think with that kind of money the only one I'd trust would be Warren Buffet. Besides if a financial planners are so good why aren't they rich and wealthy. It would be hard to trust anyone with that kind of money.

Like they say, your chance of winning is 1 in 292 million. Your odds are slightly better if you play. :D
I wonder if they re-think their recent modification of adding more numbers to decrease the odds of winning so the jackpot would get larger. I read that they did so because Powerball ticket sales were falling and figured larger jackpots would increase sales.
Odd thing is that the lowest 4 sets of prize payouts stayed the same.
I think they should have left it like it was so more people could win larger prizes in the non-jackpot. I don't really think anyone has a clue what to do with that kinda money. I think it could be a full time job just watching it so it didn't spring leaks. ;)

What they should do is make it so there would be more 5K, 10K, and so forth winners. Even take the big prize and break it up into multiple winners. If it's 50 million, have 5 winners that take home 10 million. I'll bet that there would be a whole lot more people buying tickets, which means more revenue. A win, win situation. Or am I all wet?

You are right IMHO. I actually bought two tickets, first time in years.

Oregon's Megabucks lottery starts at 1 million......... obviously more people win because the odds are a lot better...... but the odds are still ridiculously impossible. However, people do win it.
Powerball is a different animal. It starts at 40 million. It's designed so a winner will actually become a real millionaire.
People can lose a million dollars really fast unless they stay working and don't buy a new house and a fleet of cars.
...I think it takes 4 or 5 years longer to lose $800 million than lose $1 million, mainly because there's 800 times more poisonous fumes from the ink in your pile of money and that makes you get really stupid. :D

Your chances of being killed by a asteroid in 2016 is 4X greater than winning the Powerball. So I went out and bought the winning ticket. I'm waiting for them to announce it tonight. :p

I heard someone from Chino Hills, California won the lottery. This is about 15 miles from my house. Although the tickets I bought only had 4 numbers on 5 tickets, one had the powerball number, so I get a few bucks. I am also in our local bar pool, and we bought a few hundred dollars worth. The manager of the bar lives in Chino Hills, so I will keep my fingers crossed that he purchased the tickets somewhere in the town he lives in.
