I may be starting this topic early, but the stock market and Bitcoin started rising immediately after the polls appeared to be leaning towards "The Donald" .....and both of them suddenly rising to new record levels before the end of trading on November 6th.......
I started thinking. If the stock and Bitcoin reacted 4 or 5 hours before the election was actually called.... How fast will gas prices react?
Will the stock market, Bitcoin go up quickly and keep going up?
Will gas prices quickly go down?
Will they continue in those positive directions, ow will it quickly plateau, or even go back down.
I honestly don't know.
I started this new gas price topic so we could have a new starting point based upon a drastic change in the US position on fossil fuels.
Literally the day after Biden got into office and announced no more oil leases on federal land, and he pulled the rig out from under the Keystone pipeline, prices started rising, then riding sharply. Google it. You can see in January of 2020, the price per barrel started going up.
The administration sent a doomsday message the oil and coal were going to be replaced by batteries (powered by coal and natural gas generators) 😂

The Trumpster won the election on the 5th. It's three days later and at the station I get gas at dropped regular gas a full 20 cents. 😱

20 cents in one or two days? That has NEVER EVER happened here.
.....EVER!

The gas price at the station I usually go to hasn't changed 3 cents up or down in the past 6 months. It's rock steady and rarely changes.
West coast prices are always high for supply and logistical reasons.

Anyway, post your prices before (or if) they go down.
The market has been sent a message. Is it reacting already?
If it is, will it continue? One way to find out.

Just last night, it is obvious that our illustrious liberal Governor Newscum is having a temper tantrum. He is trying to impose rules that say the California Constitution is stronger than the US Constitution (good luck when you get sued, idiot) and he is trying to make Kommiefornoia the dumping ground for all 50 states illegal Aliens. California Air Resources Board (CARB) which is a liberal run Klan is now imposing that California MUST use a special blend of California ONLY gas, and we have been told to expect a $.40 - $.60 increase per gallon of gas. Isn't out $4.50 cent a gallon for regular gas enough money?

I'm really hating Liberals right now!

I saw a map of the state and the mid to southern part has a very noticable red tint this cycle.
Suppose that increase would be because of higher taxes replacing reductions in actual fuel cost?

I think we dropped almost .30, down to 2.99
I forgot yours was that high.
Has the reduction in price been over the last month of the past week?
Our Chevron is $3.50 and it's right next to Fred Meyer where I get my gas. I'm gonna cruise town today and see what other stations are doing.

Chevron dropped to $3.20 😱
They've always been the highest in town. We have 3 Chevrons.

$3.20 s a 29 cent drop since the day after the election. One station in town is $3.10 and I haven't checked the cheapest station yet, it's 6 miles away. It's always lower than everyone else.

Well, another sudden, overnight 11 cent drop at one of our 76 stations. I'm betting that the other has done the same.
I'll check tomorrow and see the reaction at other stations.
It's been 4 years since it was this low..... Maybe more. I can't really recall $3 gas, but $2.79 sticks in by brain for some reason. 🤔
Gonna research that. I'm guessing 2019 😉

Our prices on the West Coast are always a lot higher than the national average. This price graph doesn't accurately reflect us accurately, but the price trend does.
We're about 40 cents cheaper that the day after the election.

How are the prices trending "in you neck of the woods", as Al always says.
Dropping or steady?

The two 76 stations had dropped to $3.10 for a few days last week. Now after somebody lit of their ICBM, it went back up to $3.15 Chevron and Fred Meyer did the same.

Drill baby, drill!
Before devouring the un- pardoned Turkey I’m watching ‘ To the Ends of The Earth’ 2016 on pattrn tv 👍 ( feeding the beast, with tar pits in Canada) The energy cost of energy 🤪 or EROI Energy Return On Investment. The Tar Sands Projects take about 5 barrels to gain 1 barrel 🤫
And by 2035 the drill baby drill oil supply will substantially reduce. The facts are out there and one could surmise wisely that even though alternative energy sources are not yet viable, we better continue its development as an adaptation alternative.

By 2035 it may be viable, or more probably a lot closer.
If it cost 5 barrels to make one barrel, somebody would be broke and out of business before the end of the week unless the process was experimental..... Or if their marketing and advertising enticed enough people to pay $22 per gallon instead of $3.60
It needs to take a fraction of a barrel to produce a barrel.
Sources matter.
Oregon set it's 2025 commercial electric truck mandate ahead to 2026 instead of this January 1st.
Why?
Maybe because commercial electric trucks have a 200 mile range...
...that, and the fact that Oregon has ONE commercial electric truck charging station. 🤣

One has to wonder where we'd be right now if 15 years ago we'd started building another couple dozen nuclear reactors..... to assist the other 94 that are currently in operation.

I don't even think that drill baby drill will ever get us that low. I could live with $3.00. I think it may have gotten down to $2.76 during Trump's last term, so if it was 24 cents higher 6 years later, I'm good with that.
...$2.42 would still be ok with me. 🤣
The day Biden stole the election, gas was 1.79 here.
