He was suffering from dementia for at least a decade. My mother-in-law was a big fan. My Great Uncle played with him.............I think he said it was in WW2 either in the actual Army Band or just casually in the clubs and such later but very early in their careers. Uncle Bob played the flute and eventually became a composer and music professor.
