Interesting. Wonder how much he drives and how he can tell the cost? Solar panels might help drive that cost down.

The new cheaper Tesla charges for using their commercial charging stations. That is one way to recoup their losses.

My cousin has a full size Tesla and he told me he spends about $20 a day to charge it up. Where are the cost savings for these exotic battery cars?

I,m betting he misread it. Maybe moved a decimal point? $2.00
Or maybe he's including the cost of installing the converter.............. which would give him his true cost.

You could be correct, but he said he always is at "Tier 3" prices and spends $1000 a month for electricity. He does have an awfully large house, somewhere near 6k sq ft.

I wish solar panels were cheaper. I really want to switch my house over to solar power bc I'm tired of the power outages & power surges that keep damaging my wiring.
The power was out from 3:30pm to 1:30am last week.

I would think the fancy electric cars would come with their own built-in solar panels so they can charge while out in the sun. But, I know that the conversion & storage is not quite efficient enough for fully solar ones yet.
