Those are called flyin' rats around here. When not pooping on your car hood, while begging for part of your sandwich or french fries, they can be pretty photogenic.

We've got the Coots, Flickers and Robins in abundance, but the Flickers don't show themselves much. No turtles and if there's cowbirds here I think they're all black .... unleashed what I see aren't cowbirds.
You're lucky to be near an area with so many different birds. I do too, but I never see them in my normal travels.
