It's a one stage snow blower .Made for wet snow . Toro makes the best one for around $400.00 I just saw this u tube on how to make your two stage work the wet stuff . simple fix .

thank god I don't have to need one of those on a regular basis. I did hand scrape 10" off of my driveway today with a regular shovel and rake. I thought I was going to die after 2 hours.
