While on my walk yesterday, I waved and said hello to a former councilwoman,

Both Karen’s and MAGA’S make mistakes, for they know not what their well-meaning good intentions can do. That’s why we need just a little bit more empathy for each other.

Nice understanding havasu, not that I’m the understanding police, but rather a patriotic American, who recognizes a lost art form, that encourages improvement along the road of differences.

I can't imagine trying to jog while wearing a mask.

Nor can I. Hell I had trouble changing the shop vac filter yesterday wearing the N 95 for 10 minutes ….however, sometimes it makes sense to do things, we are uncomfortable doing, out of courtesy and understanding for others, who may hold a stronger conviction than ourselves. If we go through life, trying to prove our ideas, and our way of thinking onto others, life quickly becomes a battle amongst each other, a competition of convincing, rather than shared experiences that could be more pleasant and functional.

A few years back, a young man I knew was trying to get custody of his daughter from his ex who is an addict. He just needed a house. His dad, who was a friend, knew some people who had a rental that needed a lot of work. His dad remodeled and I put floor covering in it free with him getting rent credit for what we did. Sad part is, a few years later his mother died of cancer and the young man committed suicide over it.

To show compassion and understanding, I didn't tell the plumber that he's not working in an apartment. I also didn't tell him his workmanship looks like crap.
In a very high end home like the one I'm working at, and the builder expecting other trades to be on par quality wise...
...he's not gonna like this if he sees it.
...and no, I'm not going to mention it to the builder.... the tile guy probably will when he comes to install the shower doors tomorrow.

Maybe I'm being overly picky and it's not an issue until the silicone gets slobbered more than 1 1/2" out onto the non slip tile.

I generally don’t bag on plumbers but that looks almost as bad my first attempt at smoothing acrylic caulk.

Dude should have blue taped in front of the shower before he caulked it. Toilet isn’t as easy to blue tape but damn, did he use the back of his thumb? When I’m smoothing caulk I’ll roll my finger so the excess caulk goes up the toilet as opposed to the floor. Lot easier to wipe fresh caulking off of porcelain than it is a textured floor.

When I would reset a toilet I would purposely not caulk it. Then I would give the customer the line That’s so you can tell if it’s leaking. Some of the more knowledgeable customers would tell me it’s code to caulk a toilet and would I tell them back that it’s also code to have a plumber reset your toilet so, no, I will not be the one to caulk your toilet cus I’m not a plumber.

Thinking about it, I can’t believe how many times I’ve had to tell people that I’m not a plumber and I don’t touch anything that has to do with water.
