I had my home warranty insurance people try to repair my pool heater. The ordered a bunch of parts and tried replacing them, but most of the parts were wrong. The service guy decided it would be cheaper just to replace the 22 year old heater with a new one. I have a feeling that the insurance company will gripe about the guy's recommendation.
We went down to Wellington on Saturday for four days as we had some airpoints to use up
Thought it was about time we did the train trip as its meant to be very good and it was as seeing the country from a different side having driven and flown to Wellington lots of times. 8 hours by car I think,
Wellington is the windy city of NZ as you can see from these planes taking off and landing
We flew back but the weather was kind to us as you can see from the photo of the cable car
Weather has been icky here Jon. Windy, then breezy then rainy then strap your hat on windy then rainy etc etc...... Outside is cool and breezy, so I'm lookin' through my old slides. Here's a log bridge on a trail down to a pair of waterfalls. The steep trail is mostly downhill for two miles. as you pass the upper and lower falls. This foot bridge is at about the 1/2 way mark.
That looks an interesting bridge
We don't have that many tracks around here unless you want to travel about half an hour
Its all houses here which means linolayers are kinda busy
Sure do, but I wish some of what I show here was a little bit closer to home.
.........but then it wouldn't be so special I suppose. This one is probably a 2 1/2 hour drive. There's about a 1000 drop in elevation from the beginning of the trail to this lower set of falls.......... and then there's that 2 mile ascent back up to the truck. Right now my hip hurts just thinkin about that.
I have only hiked this entire trail once. This was my first trip and at the trail head there was a little snow on the ground at the 1500 foot level. It was February of '97
