I had to say goodbye to my rottweiler this morning. She took a sudden drastic turn for the worse. Last night she seemed ok, but this morning she couldn't get up, wouldn't eat, and had labored breathing. I tried wrapping her in a blanket, giving her warm water via syringe in the mouth, Pedialyte, etc but she was just unresponsive. We took her to the vet and he said the cancer must have spread to her heart and respiratory system. Had to put her out of her misery. :-(
She went quickly and I was holding her face and petting her. He offered to do it without us there, but I wanted to be there for her. He was sympathetic since we just last a cat and had shelled out a lot of $ in vet bills already, so he said there was no charge and he would take cave of her body for us.
I really thought we still had a few more months with her, but she's not suffering anymore.

Sorry to hear of your loss Z . My brother had two dogs, One he spent $6,000 on Dental work and she died a few months later . Now this one is on her last legs .
They both take it hard .

That's the downside to having pets-- their lifespans can be so much shorter. There have been times where I thought I would just give up on having pets because it hurts so much to lose them, but I kept finding ones who needed homes and I love them.

Arrived in San Francisco

One of my cats puked up something that looked like a 3" long segment of fettuccine. I was cleaning it up and then noticed that it was moving. It curled up and stretched out-- that was when I realized it wasn't a noodle. Figured it was a tapeworm, put it in a ziplock bag, and took it to the vet for analysis. Vet gagged and prescribed meds. I get to give it to all 12 cats. Some of them get a pill and a half and the medicine cost over $10 per pill. Fun times. At least I only have to give them the meds once. Two down so far, ten more to go.

Meanwhile, years ago my father got me a towel bar and towel ring from the Style Selections "Sutter" set that has been discontinued for a few years. Forgot to get a toilet paper holder and I've been trying to find one. When I had last looked, it was over $40 and I wasn't going to pay that much. On a lark, I looked it up again recently and found one for sale on e-bay under $20. So, it arrived today. My previous toilet paper holder was single post. New one is double. I got a piece of wood with beveled edges that I can screw in to the stud and then I can secure the holder to it-- otherwise, it wouldn't stay up.

Now I just need to finish fixing up my bathroom. I have been procrastinating and really need to fix the substrate near the toilet before I tape the vinyl sheet down, install baseboards, etc.

n but now have blisters on my feet.

So no dancing tonight then? :D
We went over that bridge in a tour bus
Easier :)
We also did a wine tour for something to do as it rained just about everyday we were there
We don't drink wine but figured that we would end up seeing some of the country and not get too wet
I took a bottle of Coke onto the bus and the driver gave me heaps for the rest of the day. Go on a wine tour and drink Coke
