It's 9:00 a.m. ish and 56°, and it got way down to 55 this morning.
A storm's a brewin' so this must be the calm beforehand.
I just opened a ship app and noticed one of our pilot boats has headed out of the channel and is on its way out to a ship a few miles offshore to put a pilot on board. The ship's a little bigger than most 688 ft long.....

If a ship is over 600 ft long it comes to load wood chip. If it's under 600 ft, pretty much guaranteed to load logs.
This one is from Japan as are most of the chip ships that come here.
I looked offshore last night and didn't see a ship anywhere near here so I'm kind of surprised to see that one of the pilots has to work on Christmas Day. I'm sure the pay is quite good

This is what's supposed to be coming our way later tonight into Tuesday. The darkest red and pink colored barbs are about 50+ miles per hour. Last night I saw some that were closer to 75.

I think the storm is coming down towards us not just going straight east which would be my preference. When the storm systems come in, that entire mass doesn't continue across the United States. It kind of fizzles out when it hits the coast. Question is, will it fizzle out when it hits the coast or 50 miles farther inland? If it clears off instead of rains me and my brother might head out there to see how big the waves are. Their estimating 25 to 35 ft. Those are fun to watch but not when it's raining and windy.

15 minutes ago I posted that the pilot boat was heading out to put a pilot on board the ship. Well the pilots on board and they're heading back in already. That's amazingly fast. I'm guessing the ocean is relatively calm right now.

Snowing and blowing like a ******* here. Lots of downed power lines and cars in ditch’s. This being a military town there’s a lot of kids that get their signing bonus and the first thing they buy is a sports car….. well, they don’t do so great in feet of snow.

I finally went beyond the $39 range and spent a hundred bucks on some headphones so I can listen to music or Internet or whatever while my brother has the TV on.
My new fancy smanshy headphones were probably around a hundred bucks.

Wishing I had sold my Schwinn Apple Crate for a nice guitar and amplifier. Better yet I had learned to play the guitar.
It stinks how at 65 your brain starts to kick in.
Naw, not really. I think like a lot of us lived in the right era and one of those periods of time was dire straits.
I just spent hundred bucks on some new headphones

It got up to 48 Sunday. Just warm enough for the PVC glue to work. Had to take Mom over to watch the kids for my friend while he came out to work on the pipes. I derped and didn't realize that the 1" pipe was on the pipes coming out of the top of the jet pump and going into the pressure tank, but it transitions to 3/4" in between. So I have all these 1" fittings and needed 3/4". I had enough from older cut off stuff and things in my plumbing bin to connect the water to the house, but we will need to get more 3/4" fittings to connect the outside waterlines. They were shut off anyway so its not a big deal. I also discovered where the pipe was broken for the hose bib. I'm going to take another hose big I had that was cut off a broken pipe and attach it to the other pipe.
I got to hang out with my friend and his new gf (who is a longtime mutual friend). We are so excited for both of them but also happy that we will get to see her more often. We barely got to see her with when her ex was around. Her ex is being a jerk. He went around town today telling everyone that she cheated on him (which is not true). She'd been wanting to leave him for a long time & he had stopped even trying in the relationship so they were "soft" broken up for awhile. My friend's ex popped by and started to figure out that the new gf may be dating my friend and she started to flip out. Was asking a ton of questions and saying it was funny how they both broke up the same day-- which isn't true. My friend dumped her over a month ago but she refused to leave. It wasn't until her baby's father took the baby that he really pushed harder for her to leave & he finally threatened to call the cops on her to have her removed. He'd given her notice but she kept finding excuses to come back over. Friend has the toddler so she'll probably use him as an excuse to pop by. She's going to try to sabotage the relationship but its not going to work.
My shoulder is really giving me grief today-- arm barely working-- but I'm hoping it will stop being a bitch. Stupid rash under the arm is back so I need to get my arm lifted enough that I can put some rash cream on to make it go away. Need to find some deodorant that doesn't irritate my skin to use as well.
The cartridge in my friend's shower valve fell apart so no taking showers over there for a bit. I need to find a replacement cartridge asap.

Put in for warranty replacement on the cartridge & will see what Delta says. Took the cartridge out of the box for my shower trim (exact same kind my friend has) and brought it over for him to use. He popped it in and it works.
Helped him change the brake pads on new gf's vehicle. Well, I should say put brake pads on bc what she had was bare metal-- pads were nonexistent. Her lug nuts were shot so I took him to the store to get more. Only one pack at the first store so went to a 2nd. Ran into her ex's brother who was working there who said the ex is searching for her & wanted to know why her vehicle was at his house. Said he was fixing her brakes & to not mention to the friend where she was bc she doesn't want him bothering her. Made the mistake of mentioning it to her and she freaked out. She's afraid he'll do something crazy. I need to go get her cat (maybe tomorrow) from there. She said she was afraid he'd think she sent me. I told her I wanted to get the cat and I was insisting & I'd tell him that. I said as far as he is concerned, she's staying with me (and he can't remember how to get to where I live). Said she can park her vehicle in friend's backyard so he can't see she's there. Friend's 10-yr old daughter saw she was upset, asked what was wrong, and put her arm around her to comfort her. She's such a sweet kid.
Popped in to the hardware store to get 3/4" fittings, grabbed cat food and groceries. Got a couple of things for the friends. Went home & cooked for Mom (after I gave her a salad). Gave my brother some food to eat at work as he was on his way out the door.
Hoping to take a shower at friend's house very soon. Was thinking of soaking in the tub but with my shoulder acting up I might need help getting back up. LOL. I need to find a good tote I can use for my shampoo & body wash, towel, washcloth etc so I can bring my stuff over. Oh wait, I don't have to worry about the new gf throwing my stuff out like the old GF did! She would randomly throw stuff away just to exert control. I can leave some stuff over there in a safe spot. Although, friend did use my body wash and back scrubber. LOL. I don't mind though. I bought a new scrubber and more body wash. Men's body wash & shampoo gives more bang for the buck & I don't like the smell of stuff for women's products.
Still got a rash under my arm bc I can't lift it much due to the bad shoulder. I need to see my doctor about it and figure out what needs to be done to restore motion. I can't even hold it straight out to the side, even if I try to pull it up with my other arm it won't physically go higher. It also barely reaches to the other side when I try to wash under my arms and use deodorant. Just picked up some men's sensitive skin 72 hour stuff that I hope works without skin irritation.
On a happy note, my heater in my bathroom works! I thought it was toast but I accidentally bumped the switch when trying to turn on the light and it started blowing and then heated up. Kept my bathroom nice and warm-- which is good bc I have cold air coming in from the exposed gap between my tub and the wall.
