Pretty intense. Which way is the front headed?

Now. Can't even hardly open a car door wind is blowing so hard.
That sounds dangerous to me. We got up past 24 late this afternoon, but 24 here at the house.. higher tomorrow, the barometer is going straight up. Nothing weird, just 29.75. We have a good (bad) system on its way, but over late Sunday if the forecast is accurate.
Weird thing is, that for Sunday, they have us at 2" of rain, but 24 miles south, twice that much. 😲
How can they predict weather systems with that level of accuracy?
If you said, "they can't", give yourself a gold star. 😂

I'm a sucker. 25 stairs for $950 buckaroonies. That's with giving a $100 discount (I'm way too nice) and charging just $30 per hour. It's not a for profit Theater. It's a community theater with a tremendous historical background.
I was asked to do it..... This wasn't a bad thing. Nobody asked how much.
This place lives on donations from the community, and the community is fortunate to have hundreds of generous donors.
The theater chairs are all "purchased" like $300 I think. They engrave you name or company and inset a placque on the seat you bought. Outside the front doors are quarry tiles, also with donors names on them. Pretty cool to have such generous people in the community.
Even tho I can't afford it, I felt compelled to be nice.
If not for these, I'd have nothing else on the plate, so it covers some bills. 👍
There's a lot more happening here than slappin' in some stairs. Someone else did the carpet in the upper balcony walkway and most of the theater in 2020 and before. In phases, I've done the lower aisle carpet and the boardroom carpet with the help of my brother.
These balcony stairs were the last on the list of the theater restoration.

Oliver will be the next play and I was told Charlie Brown is next in line...... All 40 people in the cast will be seniors. 😁
Hey, they grew up with Charlie. 👍

It wore me out, I'll tell you that. It's like 25 stairs to carry tools and stuff up the the balcony, and once there you're walking up and down those steps and crouching up and down while working on them. My legs and back got whooped.

It's a bit busy but it kinda fits the old theater. The first part of this install was pre COVID and it's holding up really well. The main traffic for the past 6 years has been because of the renovations. I told them it would be best with the metal because it would be easier to see the stair edges...... especially the last two so that nobody would go flying over the edge into the seats below. That wall at the bottom is really short..... Kinda spooky for my elevation. My brother said he was surprised they don't have a safety net sticking out a few feet.
There will be a railing installed, centered on the stairs. It's being constructed locally. Here's the ones I removed. They were going to have a wooden cap screwed to these, but they were two wobbly. The new railing will be one piece and secured differently. Hopefully it will be a brownish nickel color like the main stairway coming up to the balcony.

I woke up a bit early smelling smoke. It's been windy all day the wind picked up from evening and into early morning. Lots of steady rain, about 1.75" since midnight. It's calm now and the barometer is rising.
The smoke smell is from a 3 tube space heater. There isn't a backup capacitor inside the heater to let the fan run for a few seconds to cool off the elements. That the smokey smell. There's about 90 people around me without power. PP&L estimated power back on by 11:00 am
I'm betting sooner than that because of my location. It's 46 degrees outside, so it could be worse.
.....well, back to bed where it's warmer. 🥱💤💤💤

You’re a good Man Charlie Brown ! 👍 🙇
Nice work and great awareness on recommending the safety stair nosing.
