I may need to lightly touch these to the grinder if I want super sharp edge again. The sharpness really came into play when there was 1/8" or less of a broken staple protruding from the oak.1/4" would allow small Vice Grips to grab on.Haven’t modified any pliers yet but I do take my putty knife and 5n1 to a belt sander and sharpen them up real good. Them damn things will cut you if you’re not careful with them.
Funny thing tho. When I installed the pad on these steps, I intentionally drove the staples into the oak at an angle that would make them easier to remove...... some day. Same reason I drilled pilot holes and used screws.
