Here are some photos of cork bark on trucks and out to dry. I have some photos of the manufacturing process I can post tomorrow if you would like to see them.
Thanks, I'd love to see more. I have a question. When the bark is removed from the trees, does it grow back, and if so, how long does it take so it can be harvested again?
It takes 9 to 12 years for the bark to regrow. A tree takes 25 years before it is mature enough to harvest and a tree can be harvested for about 200 years.
Its pretty amazing to think that one tree can provide 2 to 3 generations of harvesters a living.
Howdy John. Theres quite a few videos and photographic articles about cork, but sometimes hard to find. There is also different grades of cork as well. Lets see what John comes up with.
