Where to start the install?

Hello,
First time poster! I need help in deciding where to start my layout. Interested to hear what the experts think?

I'll be installing 3/4" White Oak in all the rooms except the bathrooms. My first thought is to start at the long wall in the living room/dining but concerned about how it lines up in the hallway, which is where most peoples eyes will go.

Start in the hallway and go from there. Depending on where you start will determine how many times you have to reverse direction. Im assuming you’re thinking of installing it side to side.

Yes, side to side. Blue line. Should I be concerned with the floors not matching up at the purple line?

Yessir, but it doesn’t have to be right down the middle of the hallway. You can move that line up or down so you spline and reverse direction in a doorway(s) instead of the middle of a room.

Maybe you start at the two bedroom doorways and install north. Spline both doorways and install the rooms. You’ll have to spline the bedroom closet, that room in the hallway and some of the kitchen. If that doesn’t work then you can start at the north bedroom doorway. Could you get that line to shoot all the way through the kitchen? Or start off the bay window wall. Then you would only have to spline the master and a bedroom closet.

As far as the floors matching up, that takes a little skill, but if you take your time and constantly check reference and control lines as you go along, you should be alright.

Is this a pre finished product or a sand n finish?

I'll be sanding and finishing. I dont think the line will go directly from the north bedroom, pretty sure it'll hit the kitchen wall.
