If it’s someone you don’t know that well then you shoulda left them a new bottle of wine as a courtesy. Maybe even put a bow and a cute note on it thanking them. But since it sounds like you knew them AND you were doing them a favor, cat sitting, I’d say that last bit of wine was yours for the taking.

I was thinking of ya @highup. I went to Fry’s and bought some croissants, some chicken salad and some meat n cheese. Came home and split a couple croissants open. I filled one with meat n cheese and the other one with chicken salad. The beer was already in the fridge but it seemed lonely so I brought it out to play with its new friends.

Pan roasted pork loin with sautéed onions n shrooms. Box of Rice a Roni to go with it.

Pre seasoned chicken breasts and a box of herb n butter rice for dinner. Easy peasey. Fry’s has a 2 pack of pre seasoned breasts for $5 so I picked up a couple 2 packs. 1 for me, 1 for the wife, 1 for the dog and one for lunch tomorrow. Works out just right.

I also picked up a ball of sourdough bread and sliced it up then buttered and toasted it under the broiler. Haven’t had any sourdough in a while so it tasted really good.

Best part of the meal is always dessert, right. Blueberry pie with Tillamook ice cream for dessert.

Our new house has a gas stove! Holy crap, there’s nothin like cookin with gas!!! I made some pan seared oven roasted taters tonight. It was magical. No guessing what temp the knob is turned to, just look at the pan. Does it look hot?

Anyway, I don’t even care about the taters as much as I enjoyed making them. I made some chicken, too, but it was all about the taters tonight.

You didn’t miss anything. The wife picked up a nice contract here so we decided to rent a house in Tempe for a year. Much better fit.

Just for funsies, guess what rent is going for down here. House or apartment, doesn’t matter, the price is all the same.

Brown it up and toss it in the crock pot. The whole house smells so good right now. Makes me wonder why dinner scented candles aren’t a thing.

Coffee is a good scent, but crock pot chicken candles would not be a good idea..... I'd probably try to eat one.

I think you’ll be safe. They have them apple pie and sugar cookie scented candles and I haven’t tried eating one of them yet.

Almost forgot, the wife put a couple corn on the cobs underneath the meat n such in the crock pot. Most flavorful corn on the cob I’ve ever had.
