Yup, I go there a lot. I was just surprised to see that new display at Freddy's (Kroger) with their higher, "low price" tag. Those pies are kept on the shelves, not on a display like that..... Shoulda said "new price"

The paint of choice is a semi gloss enamel. Swiss Coffee is the color. Nothing special. Not too damn bright but light enough to make the space feel a little bigger. The bathroom is a sprayed white epoxy from head to toe, minus the floor and faucets n ****. I got a good first coat on everything today. I’ll hit it with 400 and touch up anything that needs it before the second coat. Prolly need a 3rd coat since the first coat is a primer coat.

Building these trailers is a blast. Nothing is the same from day to day and trailer to trailer. Theres no pre made or pre drilled anything so you have to figure it out as you go and these trailers aren’t plumb, level, square anywhere

It’s a fun new challenge every day. Then you throw in some interesting selections from the customers and it’s on like a damn TV show. The trick is to slow down and take your time. Rushing will only screw things up and cost you more time in the long run.

I got into work a little early so I ran this thing through the planer to remove the epoxy top. I then sanded it up to 180 grit. There’s a few places that need a little filler but that’s it. I’ll do that in the morning then hit it with some natural.

Got in this morning and put a coat of natural on the creation that I’ve come to call ‘Amish TV’. Looks nice. I’ll start goobering it up in a couple days when the stain is fully dry. Don’t know who will get it yet but I’ll give it away for Christmas or something like that.

Back to the cabinets I’ve been working on. I sanded everything with 400 and put a little love where necessary before giving everything a second coat of paint. I cleaned and oiled my vice in the downtime. Then I checked all my cabinet doors n drawers over one more time before giving them a third coat. Then I made a pooper scooper in the next round of downtime I had

. It’s lunch now. I’ll check the cabinets themselves for anything before I empty my paint gun after I get back to it. I’ll wait until tomorrow to reinstall the doors n drawers. That’ll give the paint some time to cure before I start touching them n ****.

Seeing all that Craftsmanship C. J. Is making me miss all the guys and gals from TFP who would regularly post about their home DIY projects.

Jim McClain of course, but then there was a guy from North or South Carolina who pulled furniture plans from a website and then have at it. He liked kayaking and left flooring for the Insurance business. Darn, I can’t think of his name

….. who do you miss from years gone by ? And what happened to Incognito

It’s understandable that we all need a break from time to time. I wish David would chime in once again every so often

Put everything back together and cleaned it up a bit. Got a table to build and cushions to install as well as door n drawer pulls. There’s still some tweaking and touch up to do here n there but you get the idea. Im wondering which one of the cabinet doors I'm going to have to remake because they’re tweaked. Im looking at the big pantry door and one of the ones under the oven. We’ll see.

I remember the guy that built his own furniture. Think he was located somewhere around Charlotte and his name started with an M but that’s as far as my memory goes. He’s the one that got me thinking about making my own stuff a few years before I actually started making my own stuff.

I wonder how many older people in the trade said F it and hung it up during Covid or shortly after? Once you get off your knees for a period of time it’s hard to get back down on them again. That and the customers. Don’t miss them at all!

My douchewaffle brother has been dropping trash on the floor again and not picking it up. I got these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077W4ZCM5
to replace some of the strikeplates in our house that don't work very well. His door hasn't shut right for years. Won't stay closed and he has to lean a ladder against it from the inside to hold it closed. I showed them to him and he basically called me stupid and lectured me on how stupid it was to think they might work because the door already had a new knob and strike plate. I told them they were specifically for repairs where doors wouldn't stay shut. So yesterday I walk out and find one of the empty packages for the strikeplates on the floor in front of his room and his door was shut properly. He didn't even bother to throw the package away. He won't ever apologize for being a dick to me or admit he was wrong about them not working.

At least he cooked some chuck roast though. He added veggies and used baby bella mushrooms instead of the white mushrooms this time. They taste better. There was also kale and zucchini and they took on the flavor of the beef broth so they don't taste like kale or zucchini.

I really need to paint the front door and replace the locksets but it's been too warm and the AC isn't cooling again. Ugh.

Went with my son & his buddy to to the amateur boxing fights last night. It’s always a good time hanging out with friends from different clubs around the state. My son was a little salty he couldn’t fight. He’s just getting over being sick & his lungs couldn’t handle it for that show. Even though he tried to BS me and said he’s fine to get on the card

. He’s got a couple weeks to recover and get back in his usual tip top shape before his next scheduled fight.

Tom, I hope your son recovers quickly. Sounds like he had some nasty RSV or something.

AC still isn't working. I got up and tried to troubleshoot but don't know what is wrong. The outside unit takes almost 10minutes to turn on after I tell it to cool or set it to auto and it isn't cooling.

Cleaned the hallway, cleaned litterboxes, took out trash, did the dishes, fed kitties, changed Mom's insulin canula, trimmed her toenails, etc. I was going to paint but I was too overheated. I have 3 fans blowing on me and am still sweating. Cooked Tortellini for Mom after I cooled off enough. Her toenails are weird. Left foot was worse than right foot. Big toe had a nail growing up and at odd angles and was snagging on blankets and socks. It has fungus on it so I had to be careful. Trimmed it back as much as I felt I safely could. I'm not good with nail clippers. I bite my fingernails and pick at/peel my toenails to keep them short. Anyway, her two middle toes had the toenails wrapped around the top all the way to the back and they were starting to embed in the skin. They just curled around tightly to the toes. I had to pry them up and cut them off so they are the right length and not in danger of growing in to the skin. The big toe on her right foot needs to be dremeled down because it is one big massive lump of toenail and fungus. I've used fungicide on them but it hasn't worked. She's supposed to see a podiatrist regularly to try to get rid of it and get her toenails trimmed, but she hasn't gone in awhile. I also filed the nails down after trimming them so there wouldn't be any sharp/rough spots that could snag stuff.

I'm hoping it will cool off enough tomorrow and that I'll have the energy to sand and paint the front door. Once the paint dries I can put the new locksets on.

Best day ever, I got paid to make a steam box. I made it out of falloff pieces we had on hand so it’s as big as it gets until I pop for a sheet of plywood. It came out to be 10”ish x 11”ish x 48”. You can fit pieces up to 47” long in there. It will do for now

. If I really want to I can simply add on to this one to make it longer. We’ll see which way happens first.

All I had on hand was some 1/4” walnut dowels so that’s what I used for my spacers. They warped pretty good so I think those will get bumped up to 1/2” dowels. Aluminum rods would be great but im afraid they might leave some sort of mark on the wood.

I made the back panel removable cus there’s no way I would ever be able to reach the steam bung to remove it if I ever wanted to. That funny bunny drawer pull needed to be put somewhere so there it is. Damn things are kinda fragile so we’ll see how long until the ears pop off. I broke 2 of them while making the box so…

I always wanted to make one even tho I'd probably never really use it...... It would be cool just bending a piece of oak or maple into a pretzel simply to watch it happen.
