I donā€™t watch PBS news but I do like watching their cooking and animal shows from time to time. Listening to the same ol climate **** doom n gloom gets old. Anymore I just tune it out cus it really doesnā€™t matter what I do on an individual level so thereā€™s no point in even listening to that crap. Thatā€™s where the cooking and animal shows come inšŸ˜
The photography is usually top notch, so I'll watch anyway or turn the sound down. I like Oregon field guide and they'll substitute Outdoor Idaho.... Both are great shows. I don't see them as politicized nearly as much.

Cleaned up, took trash out, brought cat food and cat litter in, cleaned litterboxes, called AC people and took awhile to get through. They were going to come out today but ended up not having time and called to apologize. Said they will try to come in the morning.

Took toilet jack over to friend's house. He misplaced the lever for it so need to find a new one. It seems some of the protective stuff on it (to protect the toilet from getting scratched) came off it while in his care as well. He'd borrowed it for a long time. It was too dark for me to grab the showerhead thingy. If its still there. His mother may have taken it bc she doesn't respect boundaries.

Kelebrimbor charged up to me. He had oil on him or something so I gave him a bath. He didn't like it but he was super cuddly afterward. He chased me to the truck again so friend had to put food out for him again.

It's been 86 in the house all day with 61% humidity. 84 outside with 64% humidity. Ugh. I am a ball of sweat.

Let her.... accidently, look over you shoulder to see you looking at jewelry a few times. A week later, bring up towers again.
Does psychology work on psychologists šŸ¤”

Jewelry isnā€™t really our thing. I did buy her a ring once but other than that I think I lucked out cus jewelry is expensive.

The FIL gave me some great advice years ago. He was telling me when he wants something he starts to plant the seed in his wifeā€™s ear a few months ahead of time. I do that now and that **** works, except for on a tower. Sheā€™s never going to be the one to buy me a tower. Lol.

I added on to my steam box so I could work with longer pieces. Here is how far Iā€™ve gotten today. This stuff follows pretty nicely. I think Iā€™ll get another two rows (6ā€) up today then Iā€™ll let it sit until tomorrow before I remove the clamps.

I'm not without compassion. She absolutely needs an award... NO, not a Darwin. Something shiny and fake like the Some People's Choice Award. šŸ˜
Sheā€™s on the spectrum, and high functioning. Once sheā€™s keen in on something, itā€™s virtually impossible to let it go, and were all that invested climate change interest takes her, is to a place of inevitable destruction of Earthā€™s environment. Is her enhanced brain the canary in the coal mine or just mental illness ? The jury is still out

Now for her, she probably wishes she had more ignorance, because it provides bliss.
I wonder what her Spectrum opinion is about that documentary

Well, after spending over $700 yesterday to try to fix AC-- getting 6lbs of refrigerant put in-- it all blew out in about an hour and never cooled. It's technically outside the service range for the installer. They can't get replacement parts for the unit, can't get a direct replacement unit, won't do a full replacement of both air handler and condenser unit so my options are to find someone who can do the air handler that matches. Something about Trane discontinuing models that don't use the new EPA approved refrigerants and so forth. Place that was recommended that could get the air handles won't service my area. Landline kept dropping calls for some reason.
Called 10 different places and finally got one that wasn't commercial only, actually sold to customers, would install in my area, didn't just have an answering machine or answering service, and actually called back after getting some more info. So, a dude is on his way out for an estimate.

Meanwhile I swept up kitchen and hallway, cleaned litterboxes. put down carpet powder, sprayed febreeze, change Mom's insulin cartridge, and am sweating my butt off. It got up to 88 yesterday and won't go below 84 inside. It's currently over 90% humidity outside, raining, but in the 70s. It's still in the 80s inside with 63% humidity.

The estimate for just the air handle (which can be replaced without replacing the condenser) was more than it cost to install a condenser and air handler back in 2010. But it will come with a 10yr parts and labor warranty, surge protector, 11lbs of refrigerant, and an air purifier. They will be out in the morning to install.

I hope she's enjoying the stardom and is making good money from it. She's devoted so much of her working life to it..... where else might she be employed? People don't often get a chance like that.
She's just far from the goddess that she's made out to be.

The gravy train has landed! Snap a line and start dropping planks. I use scab pieces at the butt joints to hold the line while iā€™m beating on the floor. Who remembers using a bridge piece to keep the planks lined up while tapping butt joints together.

Transition location:

Some of the 30 year old apartments are getting new kitchens. The contractor is in charge of LVP supply + installation. I simply butt to his edge ( 1/8ā€ gap for expansion) using T-track + insert. My question is, would you have cut and removed the LVT up to the breakfast bar and then Make the transition to the back side of the kitchen wall ?

I would go to the inside of jamb so it bumps that kitchen wall. Otherwise if someone puts some chairs or barstools there, they wonā€™t sit right cus half of the feet are on carpet and the other half are on LVP.

Thanks Man, Iā€™ll wait for more feedback and then give the contractor the info.

Thatā€™s a funny situation there. You want the look of having the floor wrap around so a chair can sit there but you need to make sure thereā€™s sufficient space for the chair to do its thing. Doesnā€™t look like yours has enough space.

No it doesnā€™t have enough space, but itā€™s not my place to advise, nor would anyone pay me for that consultation ahead
of time. Anyway So I try to stay in my lane as best as possibly. Iā€™ve cut and changed his locations before, but Iā€™m getting tired šŸ„± of it. The last unit, they ran the flooring into the Dr. ā€¦. This is what can happens when you cut out the kitchen designer.

Good man! Sometimes you just gotta do what youā€™re told and move on to the next.

Hereā€™s some Friday cheer being sent your way

I agree with CJ about bringing the flooring to that pony wall and then transitioning. It looks weird with one strip being different in front of the pony wall.

So, long story short, we now have working AC! Woohoo. It was 88degrees when they first turned it on. It has now reached 70. They put a surge protector on the condenser, put an air purifier below the plenum, and even surprised me with new grilles and a pack of filters. The old grilles were steel and really grimy looking. New ones are white. Different method for opening and one of the levers is hard to open, but I think some WD40 might help.

I even got a free industrial sized dolly with giant wheels out of it. JK, I called them and told them they forgot their dolly and I moved it to the porch so it would be safe from rain. Guy apologized to me and said he'd hate to ask me to have to move it and I told him it was no problem. He also thanked me for calling to tell them it was there. I hope they didn't need it for other jobs today. They can't come pick it up until next week since they are closed for the weekend and I didn't notice (well, my brother noticed it was out in the yard) until 10min before they closed.

Thanks for the feedback ā€œ Z ā€œ Okay ! I just finished my therapy session at the local Club establishments with 3 black berry ciders šŸŗ full of stool dancing to 1970 ish rock and roll live music šŸ˜† It use to be a small ski slope back in the day, appx. 1966 ā€¦. Anywho, itā€™s amazing how many older couples
come out and dance with each other.
Have a nice weekend !
