We are getting a raise, but Medicare will go up.

My Social Security increase will provide me $19 more a month. Then again, my insurance is going to cost me an additional $119 a month, My monthly gas bill has increased $600 more a month, groceries are an additional $400 a month. This has left me with $1100 less per month.

My soc sec will increase about $70 a month. One of my out-of-pocket meds went from $45 two months ago to $63. today.

Chicken has tripled in price, beef has at least doubled. Gas is still $1.00 a gallon more.

I broke down and got a Costco card cus gas is cheaper there. at least $0.50 to $1/ gallon cheaper depending on which side of town I’m on. Membership was $80, split with my brother, but if I save $25 per tank then it’s well worth it. Shell has got to be the most expensive gas station here. Makes me feel like I’m filling up at the airport right before I return a rental car.

Just filled the car today at Chevron cus Costco wasn’t close when I needed gas. $4.29 for regular. $3.79 at Circle K on the other side of town where I work. Costco is $3.35ish for regular. There’s always a line but for $25 savings when I fill the van I’ll wait.

I'm paying between $4.09 and 4.39 depending on if I can plan ahead enough to avoid that last minute, panic buy on the wrong side of town. I've never found it worthwhile to actually SHOP for gas as normally we're just pennies apart from one station to the next. With the 5.0 Ford full size pick-up I drive know it's necessary to PLAN not to get stuck buying gas from the rip-off joints. I paid $4.59 one day because I got sloppy and lazy and now I'm so pissed about that I'm putting some effort into the job.

The night that happened, I checked my lightning app and it showed a thick band of lightning from southwest to northeast. Looked like it was drawn with a fat Sharpie. It was noticeably different than a typical band of lightning. The next day I saw that news story.
I can't begin to imagine that kind of deviation.
