Maybe this belongs over in Thought of the day but here’s something for everyone to ponder.

What is it about student loan forgiveness that really irks you? Is it that some, maybe many, individuals made a poor decision and are now being bailed out for making that poor decision? Or is it just the mind boggling number that is the totality of all those individual forgiveness's that is added on to our nations debt.

I submit to you that all bailouts are because someone made a poor decision and needs bailing out. I also submit to you the ginormous numbers of money and debt being forced upon us and our next generations as a result of those bailouts. Where is the outrage over those bailouts? How much money have we sent to Ukraine? How much money did the airlines, auto manufacturers and banks get and of that money how much ended up as some ******** bonus? Hell, even the farmers got money. We’re all paying for that yet here we are bagging on the little guy who got 10k of student debt forgiven.

Just wondering.

Yes, there are "scab" apprenticeships sponsored by builder associations to beat the whole prevailing wage racket. If the scab helper is in the apprenticeship his wages would be according to the union apprenticeship scale. If the scab helper is not in an "approved" apprenticeship (State Dept. of Ed.) then the shops have to pay full journeyman package (wages.benefits.expenses)

If ya want a career, trade school is the way.
Wanna be a doctor, lawyer? You'd be best to pick parents than can afford the expense. Life isn't fair, never has been, never will be. Get used to it. I'm not jealous, it's just reality.
.....or study hard, get straight A+ grades to get a scholarship or grants.
Want to work your ass off and get some free education. This isn't for slackers, but Titan is a real life Tony Robbins, chock full of love and motivation.
He's done a video or two on his life story. I really like this man. He's overcome huge obstacles and has become the best of the best in the world of high tech machining.

Certainly there are trade schools that work. I'm not aware of broad statistics of cost efficiency compared to the School of Hard Knocks. I personally know a few success stories and quite a few folks who didn't get much from the trade schools-------just like college. There's a lot of waste and fraud in those industries.

They’re all irresponsible in one way or another and I suppose this is no different. I’m just glad to finally see the little guy get a little sumthin sumthin for once cus I certainly don’t consider a couple pandemic assistance checks that people got to be anything to brag about.

I forget the total I got.......two stimulus checks, if I recall correctly and some PPP assisted paychecks for doing nothing. NO WAY it was responsible to give my wife an I free money with our combined income and accumulated assets (investments, savings, Home Equity, etc.) These programs all ought to be emergence help for needy citizens.

We're so far off the deep end at this point with federal deficit spending I can't imagine it ends good. I go from predicting immediate financial collapse to maybe grinding out the collapse for a few more years. I'm a Doom Prepper whose just too lazy to do the Prep part. I do have a shotgun and plenty of ammo but barely enough food to last a month. If the "Grid" goes down it's the end of me.

Yeah, that's a tough life to imagine without AC. We have a few weeks/months a year where AC is almost essential but mostly it's a luxury item. When I say "Grid" I'm talking about the whole infrastructure of 21rst century urban living. I'm a real city slicker when you get right down to it. I need all that stuff.

I don’t need ALL that stuff but I do need enough stuff to get by. When the **** hits the fan and grocery stores are empty and gas stations are dry, well I’ll just curl up next to a cactus and die.

Two wrongs don't make it right. This loan forgiveness is rewarding someone for their wrongdoing. Never right in my book. Say, let's give them a participation trophy while we're at it.

Payments were based on income anyway. I knew a woman who was working full time and her loan payment was $5 a month. Only loan forgiveness I really agree with is for someone who became disabled.

I there any interest rate adjustments for low income? That would make more sense that cancelling the debt.

You got that right. It's about pandering the the Bernie Sanders/ Elizabeth Warren/AOC crowd and Biden doesn't really have a choice but to do such pandering if he wants to stay in power.

I'm watching Pitt play West Virginia. Tied up 17-17 in the 3rd quarter with Pitt on the 10 yard line. They run the ball, Pitts O-line blows WV off the line but the runner is swarmed at the 5 yard line. I saw something I never saw before in any football. One of Pitt's lineman grabbed the running back around the waist and as WV tacklers are pulling him down this guy pulls UP and pushes forward.
