censorship?
I only barely know that tic-tok is some app kids use on their cell phones to watch and create videos. I was under the impression that it's something for people who crave attention, like to show off or their "followers."
Not sure what's worse, the followers or the leaders. I'm sure I don't care about either.
The concern from our Government is that Tic-tok is owned by a Chinese co. / their government and the collection of personal information from our citizens, attention seeking youth, could eventually be used against us in some way? ….. tic-tok goes down the clock

I sort of got that much from the corporate media and their associates in the political parties. I just don't go for that idea that we ought to censor China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and other companies. Let their arguments and products stand up to Western products and Western ideas. Oh yeah, and it might help to ACTUALLY educate America's children in math and science so they can distinguish Shit from Shinola. We're failing there and no amount of censorship can repair that fatal cultural flaw.

Ticktock and it's usage agreements allow keystroke loggers. You want them logging the password to your bank account, your emails ...... everything you type.
Bad enough, but Chinese companies are required to turn over ALL data they receive to the government.
Not that their government would use it to blackmail or other nefarious things.
I think the Chinese app to be concerned with is tapatalk. Many forums use it. Would you want it on the same device that you use for banking.

Missouri legislature has a couple good bills under consideration and considering that Republicans have the majority in both houses and we have a Republican governor they have a good shot. One bill would prohibit certain countries, China, N. Korea, Iran, Venezuela, etc, from buying/owning any farm land in the state. The other would let the governor appoint special prosecutors for any county that has a high homicide rate and they could take over those cases.
They had murder charges in St Louis dismissed because the prosecutor did not show up for hearings.That's taking away people's rights!
